Experience With Systems Like Yours

A Proper Site Survey and System Design

A good company reviews your last 12 months of bills, checks roof space and shading, and sizes the system to your actual usage. Be wary of anyone who quotes a system size before seeing your bills.

Named Equipment and Written Warranties

The exact panel and inverter brand and model
Warranty terms from the manufacturer and the installer
Who handles a warranty claim, and how long it normally takes
The mounting structure material and how it is protected

LESCO Paperwork and Net Metering

If you plan to export power to the grid, your installer should handle the LESCO application. Reports in 2025 and 2026 describe LESCO tightening its process, for example asking applicants to provide the inverter's serial number and manufacturer, and requiring a dedicated transformer for larger systems. Net metering rules also changed in 2026, and which rules apply can depend on when your application was approved. Ask the company which rules apply to you, get the answer in writing and confirm the current position with LESCO.

Do They Plan for Backup and Load-Shedding?

An on-grid system without batteries typically shuts down when the grid goes down. If you need power during outages, ask about hybrid inverters and batteries and what they will and will not run.

A quotation with no site visit
Pressure to pay the full amount upfront
No named brands, just a vague wattage
No written warranty or after-sales plan
A price far below every other quote, which usually means thin equipment or no support
