What Size Solar Geyser Do You Need? 150L, 200L or 300L

Solar geysers are sold by tank capacity in liters. Choosing the right size is the most important decision you make, because it decides how much hot water you have each morning and how much you pay upfront.

Sizing Guide by Household

Tank sizeTubesSuited forPrice
150 Liter (40 gallon)15 tube2 to 3 peoplePKR 130,000
200 Liter (52 gallon)20 tube3 to 4 peoplePKR 145,000

These match the ranges on MaxGreen's solar geyser page. Prices are the current listed prices and can change, so confirm when ordering.

What Changes the Size You Need

Family size is only a starting point. Think about the following before you decide:

  • How many people shower at the same time in the morning
  • Whether you also use hot water for the kitchen, washing or laundry
  • Whether you have guests regularly, or a joint family that grows during holidays
  • Whether you want hot water for more than one bathroom from one system
  • Bathing habits: long hot showers use far more water than quick ones

If You Are Between Two Sizes

If your household sits between two sizes, the larger tank is usually the safer choice. An undersized system runs out of hot water and falls back on the electric backup element, which defeats the purpose of going solar. An oversized one costs more upfront but gives you a reserve.

Roof Space and Installation

A solar geyser's tubes sit on the roof or an open terrace and need clear sun for most of the day. Larger models have more tubes and need more space. Shade from a water tank, a neighbouring building or a boundary wall can reduce heating, so tell the installer about anything that blocks the sun.

Not Sure? Ask Before You Order

If you are unsure, call the MaxGreen team and describe your household. We will recommend a size, and when you place an order our team confirms the model, delivery and installation with you before anything is installed.
